Songs of the Week (May 14)

Had a pretty sucky week, with the servers going down and 30+ posts being deleted. But I still got some hot tracks for the upcoming 7 days so don't be concerned. Got some 2pac, Twista, Jeezy, Travis Barker, Jay-Z, Cam'Ron and more after the jump. Check it out.

Travis Barker - Jump Down (feat. The Cool Kids)

First up is a single from Travis Barker's solo debut Give the Drummer Some. The production is obviously very percussion oriented and the duo's raps flow over the beat quite well. Also Chuck Inglish is rockin the 2 different Jordan's in the video. Swag.

Don't you hate when you go into a place and somebody need an ID
Cause they left it at home,
You feel bad if you go ahead and leave 'em,
So you try to swap it out and hope the door man believe 'em,
Yo he payed cash, send a check to him directly,
Or money orders, every dollar four quarters.

Yung Berg - Where Do We Go (feat. Twista)
I don't like Yung Berg. I don't like his gay ass chains and I don't like how he keeps taking L's by getting them jacked. With that said however, this song is hot. Really nice guest spot and really nice sample on the hook.

Everytime I had mo of the dank,
Niggas think I be finished but I got more in the tank,
Imma score about 80 on 'em and go in the paint,
Imma take a chunk of ya chip
And then go to the bank

Young Jeezy - Trap Star
Classic mothafuckin Jeezy right here. He's gotta get back to this level when TM103 drops, whenever that is. And remember for those who missed it, the deadline of Memorial Day Weekend was given by Ice for Jeezy to release a new project before he is officially gotten the fuck outta here. He's been warned.

From toe to head the kicks match the cap,
Black T shirt, yeah it match the strap.
The stones in the watch, yeah the match the chain,
New Jordans on his feet, Snowman's the name.

2pac - They Don't Give A Fuck About Us (feat. The Outlawz)
You can hear the struggle radiating from this song. One of my favorite 2pac songs straight up.

I'm seeing it clearer, hating the picture in the mirror
They claim we inferior, so why the fuck these devils fear ya?
I'm watching my nation die,
Genocide the cause the aftermath is y'all.

Cam'Ron - Welcome To New York City (feat. Jay-Z & Juelz Santana)
Sometime I'm not sure if I take Cam'Ron as a serious MC, but in this song he definitely shines, especially since he needs to keep up with Jigga man. Also, great production by Just Blaze.

I'm from Flushing, Marcy, Nostrand, Myrtle & park.
Niggas'll drive by in the day, murder you in the dark
That's why the Johnny gun I'm holding
Wet niggas up like the johnny-pump is open
Homie, I play hard.

Ya Boy - Who Am I To Say (feat. Hope)
This was a song from a DJ Ill Will mixtape back in '09. The hook is one of the better ones I've heard, Hope does a great job.

But you know I get you higher than a weed leaf,
And you know I keep you flier than a seabreeze,
If it wasn't for me really, where would she be
I don't care cause baby girl rare,
Sort of like a Dr. Dre drum with a snare.
