@rellyOnSMASH 140 Characters Wasn't Enough - Let That Beat Breathe

Relly's got another classic blog post he just let loose over at YHTN. This time the topic is the incredible amount of inevitable remixes that spawn from every hot song that's dropped. Hit the jump to laugh your ass off.

"Well what do you know? Blog number 10 huh? That’s 1 classic blog for every single finger on your hands. So you know what that means right? Time to back flip directly into hollywood mode b. No more regular hoes, no more returning phone calls and no more showing up at family reunions. And don’t try to hit me with the “Don’t Forget About The Little People” line either. I already forgot about all you little niggas in the middle of my 5th blog. Now as we harlem shake over to business, like always, I have to be the one to step up and address something that’s been going on in the game for a while. If I don’t do it, who will? You might agree, you might disagree. Either way, none of you can beat me in a game of Words With Friends, so it really doesn’t matter.
Point blank, you rappers have GOT to learn when it’s time to relax your limbs and vocal cords, and just let an instrumental breathe. You rappers ran the “Tupac Back” beat collar bone first into the dirt and gravel. We had shit from “Biggie Is Back“, “Big Pun Back” (which was the dopest remix by the way), “Left Eye Back“, “Big L Back“, “Snapbacks Back” to “Jean Shorts Back“. Ok, I made up that last one up, but you all understand where I’m coming from. We even have artists RUINING the perfect picture Drake a.k.a Mr. Bathwater painted us with “Marvin’s Room“. I’m sorry to deliver the bad news, but Marvin’s room has reached full capacity b. You niggas have that shit resembling a genuine concentration camp right now. Let. That. Shit. Go. I haven’t heard a dope remix to this YET. Nothin’ but fumbles, missed tackles and flags on the play. Chris Brown’s version of “Marvin’s Room” was the boost mobile flip phone of all the remixes. I have NO clue what he was thinking, and I still don’t know who the unidentified black male rapping at the end was. But by the sound of his voice, I can tell he shot a couple niggas so I’ll leave him alone.
At what point do we draw that bold line to let these rappers know that enough is enough? Me and Lowkey agree that after 2 weeks you just have to leave it alone and let the beat inhale and exhale freely. But not only do we have these rappers over using beats, they’re also touching instrumentals they have NO business tampering with. The way I see it, if you can’t top the original, or make a version AS hot, don’t even bother. While we were out partying and getting drunk at pool parties on 4th of July weekend, we let Memphis Bleek hotfoot inside the studio, and get his sneaky paws on the “I’m A Boss” beat. I could already hear the anguish and torment just by looking at the download link. “I’m A Boss” is arguably the hardest song of the year. If anybody gets on that beat they have to BODY it. Anything less is completely unacceptable.
I do know one thing though. I know you niggas better not THINK about freestyling over that “Otis” beat. Not yet anyway. I already know a handful of you unsigned rappers have diabolical plans to embarrass yourselves over this instrumental. So before you do, just ask yourself, “Can I Make A Version Better Than Jay-Z & Kanye‘s?” Most likely the answer will be absolutely fuckin’ not. So just save us the pain and agony, and save yourself from catching a clip full of red hot slander fired directly at you. The first “Otis Freestyle” I see scurry across my timeline that’s wack, I’m blowing it into smithereens. Just a fair warning. [Editor's Note: Brooklyn MC, Papoose freestyled over "Otis" late last night. Not sure why, but he did.]
Aight, well I’m outta here. Time to get back to deleting all these regular chicks out of my contacts. Make sure you report every shirtless male in your mentions as spam, and y’all be cool how y’all be cool.
Oh, and remember. If her car has a system and tinted windows she’ll let you smash on the first date…..#FACT"
