Album: Zero Heroes
Producer: Seven
Rating: ★★★★★★★★★★

Kind of an odd coincidence that out of 30K songs in my iTunes, the song that comes up next is our number 1 song of 2011. And there's nothing really more to say about this. Seven made an incredibly epic beat that Vizzy manages to flow over with ease. I don't give out 10 Star ratings very easily, but this is one track that definitely deserves it. Download after the cut.

Random Track of the Day 13: Destiny's Child - Love
Album: Destiny Fulfilled
Producer: E. Williams & A. Beyince
Rating: ★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆
[Lyrics]
Previous: Day 10 | Day 11 | Day 12
I actually listened to this album a few days ago (no homo), but this was not one of my favorites off that album. It's not that it's particularly bad, but it's pretty slow and generic. However, I'm sure you'd dig it if you have two X chromosomes. Download after the cut.

Random Track of the Day 12: Slightly Stoopid - 2 AM
Album: Chronchitis
Rating: ★★★★★★★★☆☆
[Lyrics]
Previous: Day 9 | Day 10 | Day 11
I really cannot think of anything chiller then Slightly Stoopid's music. The guitar and percussion on this track is dopely smooth, with a tang of reggae influence. Sounds like something you'd want to sip a Corona and diddy-bop with a young Hawaiian tender to. If you enjoy this track, make sure to check out the rest of Slightly Stoopid's Chronchitis album. Download after the cut.

Random Track of the Day 11: Game - Hate It Or Love It (Street Remix)
Album: You Know What It Is Vol. 3
Producer: Cool & Dre
Rating: ★★★★★★★☆☆☆
[Lyrics]
Previous: Day 8 | Day 9 | Day 10
I'm not sure Game really benefited financially or career-wise from the feud with 50, but no one can say he didn't lay the lyrical smack down on Curtis and the entire G-Unit camp. The You Know What It Is Vol. 3 tape was the installment whose sole purpose was to discredit everyone from Game's old camp. "300 Bars & Runnin" is one of my favorite diss of all time, and joints like the one featured here served as supplementary tracks that made everyone realize that Game had the skills to survive as a stand-alone artist.

Random Track of the Day 10: Kandi - Trade Him In (feat. Gucci Mane)
Album: The Fly Above EP
Producer: Drumma Boy
Rating: ★★★★☆☆☆☆☆☆
[Lyrics]
Previous: Day 7 | Day 8 | Day 9
A Gucci Mane guest verse couldn't even save this song, and it's pretty embarrassing when the best part of your single is Gucci Mane vocals. Kandi tried to make a break up anthem, in the same vein as "Irreplaceable" by B, but came up way short. Anyways, check it out and see what you think, maybe you guys have a different opinion. Download after the cut.

Random Track of the Day 9: Green Day - Poprocks & Coke
Album: International Superhits!
Rating: ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆
[Lyrics]
Previous: Day 6 | Day 7 | Day 8
Pretty average Green Day song for today's track. Catchy vocals and riffs, but nothing really too great going here. This is back from '01 so it's interesting to see how their sound has changed from songs like this, to the more aggressive tracks that were on American Idiot and other later albums. Download after the cut.

Random Track of the Day 8: The Pack - Vans
Album: Skateboards 2 Scrapers
Producer: Young L
Rating: ★★★★☆☆☆☆☆☆
[Lyrics]
Previous: Day 5 | Day 6 | Day 7
So as you can see above, I'm adding a rating system to each song for the RTotD posts. Since I'm getting these songs via shuffle, the quality of the tracks will inevitably vary depending on opinion and personal taste, so this 10 star scale will make it easier for everyone.
Anyway, song number 8 is The Pack's most well known song "Vans", an ode to their favorite sneakers. Despite the superficial nature of the song, the production (simple but catchy) paired with the groups' flow saves this track even though the lyrics are not complex or deep by any means. These guys have faded into obscurity, except for Lil' B, whose cultivated a following of ever-increasing proportions (I'm not sure why tho, he's fucking garbage). Hit the cut for the download link.

Random Track of the Day 7: Ying Yang Twins - Calling All Zones (feat. Hitman Sammy Sam & Khujo)
Album: Me & My Brother
Producer: N/A
[Lyrics]
Previous: Day 4 | Day 5 | Day 6
The newest joint my iTunes picked out for us, is back from the Ying Yang Twins glory days. They haven't done anything worth mentioning in years (if you consider even their best work worth mentioning smh), but they've been involved in some good ass club tracks so I can't slander them too bad. Download after the cut.

Random Track of the Day 5: Dilated Peoples - No Retreat (feat. B-Real)
Album: The Platform
Producer: T-Ray
[Lyrics]
Installment #5 is here, with a single from the Dilated Peoples' Platform album. This is one of the most underrated groups. They've mostly been big on the underground scene, but you might recognize their most famous single with Kanye West. I feel like the hook on this one is a Mobb Deep sample, but I might be wrong. Check it out.

Random Track of the Day 4: Coldplay - The Escapist
Album: Viva La Vida
[Lyrics]
Really short song lyric-wise (2 stanzas), but really cool instrumentation-wise. This serves the outro to their VLV album. As we get deeper and deeper into the RTotD series, we'll get to see more songs outside the realm of hip hop. Make sure you guys check back frequently so you don't miss anything.

Random Track of the Day 3: Lil' Wayne - They Still Like Me
Album: Dedication 2
Producer: Pimpin' & Parlae
[Lyrics]
Previous: Day 1 | Day 2
Today's random track comes from Wayne's glory days, in the D2, C2, D3 era, too bad he's gone all downhill from there. The original beat is Dem Franchize Boyz' "I Think They Like Me" and it's safe to say Wayne kills it. I wonder what his thoughts would be if he saw himself now at that point: serving jail time, running the daycare/retirement home known as YMCMB and scampering about wearing women's clothes and green UGG boots? Smfh. Download after the cut.

This is the second Random Track post, and once again my iTunes did the picking. I don't think this mixtape is even official, but it dropped back in '08 and this was the bonus track I had on my copy. Shit is actually mad dope. It's cool finding new tracks that have been in your library but you haven't listened to yet. Download after the cut.

Random Track of the Day 1: Royce Da 5'9" - Success (feat. Obie Trice)
Album: The Bar Exam 2
Producer: N/A
[Lyrics]
The whole purpose of StraightFresh is to provide you guys with music. Straight up. So every few days I'm going to shuffle my 29,579 song iTunes catalog and hit you guys with whatever comes up first. You never know what what artist or even what genre will be posted so it'll be cool for you guys to hear peep some shit you wouldn't usually get to hear.
The first track we have to jump start the series is from Nickel and his Bar Exam series. This was a bonus joint that wasn't on the official release, but Nickel rips it and gets Detroit native Obie Trice to help out as well. Stay tuned for the follow up post within the next few days. Download after the cut.
