Songs of the Week (April 16)

This week's songs got some heat from Slaughterhouse, Eminem, Drake, Nas, Pusha T, Dr. Dre and a bunch of  others, brought to you in part by Hayden Panettiere ha (saw Scream 4...it was average). Hit the jump and check it out.

Slaughterhouse - Move On

This actually might be one of my top 3 favorite hip hop songs of all time. Honestly, I dare any hip hop fan to find something wrong with this. Each of the four artists drop some of the realest bars I've heard and the production is on point.

I won't stop recording till I'm making songs harder than Pac's
If it don't happen, at least a nigga know he right there.
Every memory under my Dodger hat's a nightmare
As a kid I had to steal breakfast
And now the best question you have to ask me "is this a real necklace?"

Roy Jones Jr. - Can't Be Touched

Let's just say this: if GOD wanted to listen to one song before beating the fuck out of someone...it would be this.

I move when my heart say move,
Fierce like a lion, got nothing to prove,
Stubborn as a hot damn mule.
God in my corner, nigga can't lose.

Dr. Dre - Topless (feat. Eminem & Nas)
Dre took time out from working out and wearing the same thermal for the the past 3 years to drop this...reference track I guess is what you would call it? There was an earlier version that featured T.I., but I like Em's version better. This beat is ill plus Nas and Em both go in.

My genetic code make up? "Murderer by Design".
On my calendar, when time meets day,
I'm in a light grey Bugatti like a high-speed chase.
Adrenaline like the jogger that jumps in rope in place,
The Muhammad Ali hobbies, no pilates
Trying to keep the ocean by me.

Dre - Chevy Ridin' High (Remix) (feat. Pusha T, Fat Joe, The Game, Dirtbag & Rick Ross)
Dre, of the production team Cool N Dre, got a bunch of his buddies to remix his single from his solo album (did that ever even come out?). This is from way back before Push or Ross had a really big buzz, but all the verses are dope and Push even throws shots at T.I. and Wayne.

If he claims king, and he claims best,
I guess you can call me God.
There's none higher, none flyer,
Louis Vuitton frames hide the face of the supplier,
Peek-a-boo, take a look at what these kilos do.

Drake - Congratulations
Rocking over a Coldplay sample, this is from back when Drake was just getting noticed by people and it's one of his dopest songs.

I got a monopoly, catch  me on the boardwalk
Like I said, we pull your card and find out you're a Hallmark,
Just know I'm breaking world records, no false start.
I don't see a point unless it's gunpoint or something,
My deal like Weezy's first week, one point something.

Eminem - Scary Movies (feat. Royce Da 5'9")
You might recognized this as the song from the credits of the first Scary Movie. But the song itself shouldn't be written off just because of its association. This is another throw back from back in Em's career when he was working with Royce under the group name Bad Meets Evil. You could tell both of them were way above anyone else.

If they don't like the track, fuck 'em,
The rap struck 'em,
harder then getting hit by a Mack truck and then backed up on..
And every half ass known rapper to trespass,
Better be ready for the second Celebrity Deathmatch.
So tell the medic to bring the medication and quickly,
I'm sicker than a 2pac dedication to Biggie.
