Songs of the Week (May 21)

I took a break from listening to the "Racks" remix while recovering from a night of death to put together this weeks' songs. We got Fat Joe, Jeezy, Luda, Lupe, Bun B, Ross, Game and others, in addition to a customary non hip hop joint. Hit the jump to get it started.

Delinquent Habits - House of the Rising Drum
Anyone whose paid Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (#4 to be specific), may recognize this song from the in game soundtrack. That series had some of the best music out of any video game ever IMO. Really dope underground hip hop song that deserves some shine.
Bannin' Latin accents, then I drop bombs,
Napalm square on the flesh and to make it more definitive you won't get rid of this
Your narrow minded attitude will make me rude,
Making 'em capitulate in a civil fashion
I'm old fashion when it comes to body thrashin.

Fat Joe - Slow Down (Ha Ha) (Young Jeezy)
This was one of the singles from Fat Joe's The Darkside Vol. 1 and I feel the song was overlooked. It was definitely one of the better songs from the album and the music video is pretty damn sick. The Jeezy feature makes this 10x better.
In the hood I'm a hero,
On that minute fourteen like a guitar hero,
Came a long way from that toilet bowl white though
...But Imma be aiight though.

Shawty Lo - A-Town (feat. Ludacris, Gucci Mane & The-Dream)

Yeah I know, Shawty Lo is not great. Usually I don't pay attention to anything he drops. But this song is his best one. The-Dream's chorus is ill and all 3 verses are on point (yes Gucc and Lo drop pretty nice verses in this...believe it or not). Also Shawty Lo's beard in this is fuckin insane. Literally looks like it was painted on.
I had the city on my back, but now I wear it on my neck
800 thousand dollars worth of diamonds just to flex,
That Wayne Williams shit was sick, Sidney Dorsey trial was thick
Love Atlanta, Give up a million just to get back Michael Vick.

Rick Ross - Push It (Remix) (feat. Bun B, Jadakiss, Styles P & Game)
Ross switches up the beat a tad, and gets the Trill OG, the L.O.X. and Game to help him out. Way better then the original, which appeared on his debut album Port of Miami, a few years back.
I thought I'd be on the block pushin' raw forever,
Cause in '95 I used to push it like Salt N Peppa.
Graduated from baking soda, now I'm pushin grams,
I was grindin before Malice and Pusha man

Wyclef Jean - Fast Car (Remix) (feat. Lupe Fiasco)
Lupe tags a verse onto Wyclef's song. Nothing more to say about this, you know it has to be dope.
Soon as they waved checkered, begin to drive reckless,
Hope you have a wreck, but walk away deathless.
And when they rush the car with the extinguishers,
You gesture to the crowd with your fingers up that you're okay.

Van Halen - Panama
This song was featured in SuperBad above. The song is classic. And of course, you got the face melting Eddie Van Halen guitar solo. Take a listen to the full song below.
