Songs of the Week (September 3)

This will be the first SOTW post from my new apartment in the streets of Boston, MA. The site has been in a state of struggle for the past week or so, due to the power outages and my moving situation, but we got the internet up and running in the new place so SF.net is back up to full force. This week's songs got some oldies, some new joints and one of the most hilarious freestyles ever recorded. Hit the jump to check it out.

Eminem - As The World Turns [prod. Eminem]
To start things off, is a track off of Em's classic Slim Shady LP album. I feel that now he says controversial shit just because it is expected of him, but back at this point, he really did not give a single, solitary fuck.

But she swallowed my fucking leg whole, like an egg roll.
With one leg left, now I'm hoppin' around crippled,
I grabbed my pocket knife and sliced off her right nipple.
Just trying to buy me some time, then I remembered this magic track,
Den Den Den Den Den Den, go go gadget dick!

Dayton Family - So High
I've never heard of these guys, but @Dandaa74 showed me this joint, and it is straight up flames. They're from the struggle streets of the Detroit area, are ghetto as fuck, but are able to flip samples on their beats to make something original and dope. Check it out.

Lil' Wayne - You Ain't Got Nuthin' (feat. Juelz Santana & Fabolous) [prod. Alchemist]
Carter 3 was where Wayne started his downward spiral to the point he is now. This joint was the last track on the album and also my favorite song. R.I.P. to this beat.

Lay the beef on  his noodle, make some Luger lasagna,
40 Cal fettuccine, trey pound pasta,
You reach for this medallion, you must like Italian nigga.

Kanye West - Gorgeous (feat. Kid Cudi & Raekwon) [prod. No I.D. & Mike Dean]
This is one of my top 3 albums of all time, and this is one of the best songs from it. Great production, great verses and a strong guest spot by The Chef.

Is hip hop just a euphemism for a new religion,
The soul music for the slaves that the youth is missing.

Kid Ink - My City (feat. Killa Kyleon, Red Cafe & Machine Gun Kelly) [prod. Cardiak]
We posted this a while back, but I'm not sure many people gave it a chance. It's a really dope posse cut, with a stand out verse by Bad Boy signee MGK, not to mention Cardiack did his fuckin thing on the beat.

Hoes gotta learn them, bitch take a number,
These lames laying paper on them, I be laying lumber.

CKY - Chinese Freestyle
This shit is hilarious. Brandon Dicamillo, of CKY, isn't Chinese, or even Asian, but he coulda fooled me. Plus he spits more flames then half the rappers in the game right now. You gotta listen to this shit.
