Top 15 Songs of September 2011

September usually means most people are reentering the struggles of college life and that summer has officially peaced out. Music-wise, there has been some heat dropped in the past 31 days, including J. Cole's much anticipated debut album. I've got my Top 15 songs of September after the cut, so check it out and leave feedback on what shoulda made the list. All the songs have individual download link, and at the end of the post there is a .zip file that has all 15 songs. Enjoy!

15. N.O.R.E. - Scared Money (feat. Pusha T & Meek Mill) [prod. Hazardis Soundz]
Barely sliding onto the list is N.O.R.E.'s latest track featuring a hot Pusha T verse and a Meek Mill "Ima Boss" sample. Hard beat on this one as well. Scared money definitely does not make no money.

14. Waka Flocka Flame - Round of Applause (Remix) (feat. Drake) [prod. Lex Luger]
This Waka x Drake collab is real interesting, and marks the first time Drizzy has rhymed over a Lex Luger beat, It's good to hear Drake not on some emotional shit for once. #OVOXO. Take Care is coming soon.

13. T.I. - I'm Flexin' (feat. Big K.R.I.T.) [prod. Big K.R.I.T.]
The King is back. After jumping on 3 remixes, T.I. finally drops an official track of his own. I think with K.R.I.T. and T.I. that not only are there a lot of acronyms in this collab, but also that the South is one step closer away from the ignorant music that has has been coming out of there lately.

12. 9th Wonder - No Pretending (feat. Raekwon & Big Remo) [prod. 9th Wonder]
9th Wonder dropped a pretty good album a few weeks ago, with this being one of the tracks that stood out when I was checking it out. Take a listen if you haven't heard it already.

11. J. Cole - Dollar & A Dream III [prod. The University & J. Cole]
Of course there's gonna be a ton of Jermaine on this list. This is Track 2 off of Cole World, starting the album off with dope bars over an airy beat.

10. Maino - Let It Fly (Remix) (feat. Roscoe Dash, DJ Khaled, Ace Hood, Meek Mill, Jim Jones & Wale) [prod. Shawn St. Cyr]
The remix to Maino's single has got some big ass names on it. And I'm not gonna lie, Roscoe Dash kills hooks on songs. Definitely one of the best party song collabs of the month.

09. Evidence - Late For The Sky (feat. Slug & Aesop Rock) [prod. Sid Roams]
Mad people slept on Evidence's album as well. He spits flaaames. On this track he teams up with a few underground, but very skilled MC's. Everyone should go give Cats & Dogs a listen.

08. Locksmith - I'm On One Freestyle [prod. T-Minus]
If you've been tuning into the site, you know we support Locksmith 100%. He really should be better known, he spits fiiiire. This freestyle was on his I Am Lock mixtape, and is a perfect example of how you can put a personal spin on a pop record.

07. Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks (DJ Reflex Remix) (feat. Kendrick Lamar) [prod. Mark Foster]
This is one of the seemingly random guest spots that Kendrick secured over the past few weeks. Which I'm glad he did because I probably wouldn't have heard this song if he wasn't attached to it. Joints like this show how versatile K-Dot is.

06. Chevy Woods - Crazy (feat. Wiz Khalifa) [prod. Big Jerm]
It was a smart idea IMO for Chevy Woods to get Wiz on a ton of songs from The Cookout, made sure that a lot more people would listen to it. I thought the tape was kinda fire and this is my favorite song off of it.

05. B.o.B. - Strange Clouds (feat. Lil' Wayne) [prod. Dr. Luke]
Bobby Ray has a hit with this one. Guarantee this will be on the radio within a few weeks. Got kind of a dub step-ish beat and B.o.B. kills it. Wayne is so-so as usually, but the song is still  hot.

04. J. Cole - Who Dat Pt. 2 (feat. SD & Childish Gambino) [prod. J. Cole]
This sounds like it was recorded at a radio station or something, but Childish and SD (?) go IN. You'd have to really bring heat to go in on a Cole track, and they both definitely do.

03. Pusha T - Body Work (feat. Juicy J, Meek Mill & French Montana)
Just making the deadline for the list, this new Pusha joint is fuckin hard (pause). The beat is hot and all the features are solid AF. Fear of God II is gonna be ill.

02. Blink-182 - Wishing Well
This is my favorite song from the Neighborhood album. The drums throughout this track are insane. Travis stays killing it.

01. J. Cole - Lost Ones [prod. J. Cole]
This is my top song of September. Some of the realest rhymes ever to grace a beat. This storytelling ability is one of the reasons why Jermaine is so respected. Buy Cole World if you haven't already.

That's the list for this month. Hopefully October has got some heat to bring, with Take Care, TM103 ect. dropping. If you want a .zip file with all 15 songs, click here.
